Dr. Jide Adedeji is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Easysauces Nigeria Limited, Specialty Natural Flavors Company, Mouthfresh Nigeria Limited, Specialty Coffees International and SNF consulting. SNF consulting assists clients to develop concepts, products and agribusiness enterprises.
He is the pioneer Chief Executive Officer of Teragro, the Agribusiness subsidiary of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria which recently produced commercial Orange, Pineapple and Mango juice concentrates for the first time in the history of Nigeria. He has over 20 years experience in the Food, Flavor, Natural products and Consumer Packaged goods industries. He is an expert in creating and developing natural flavor ingredients from reactions and natural sources. He was the flavor technology manager for Cadbury Schweppes beverages, Trumbull, Connecticut, USA where he managed the technology functions, marketing, supply chain, nutrition and regulatory compliance for carbonated and non carbonated colas, citrus, flavored teas, coffee and dairy beverages. He is a creative and innovative professional with a record of leading technical and project teams to successful new product development outcomes. He has an excellent record of new products research and development, product and process innovation and is a keen technology transfer scientist.
He is an entrepreneur, scientist, innovator and business owner with strong interest in value added agro-industrial business enterprises in Africa and the USA. He was the President of Honeydrop Foods Incorporated in New Jersey, USA. HDF is a manufacturer of Sauces, Soups and Seasonings. He was an associate research fellow at the International Flavors and Fragrances Company in New Jersey, where he led discovery and exploratory project to develop new, and proprietary ingredients from plant parts.
He started his working career with the Foods division of Lever Brothers in Nigeria before going to further his education in the United States. He has been associated with Henry Heide Incorporated, as a Food Technologist involved with managing contract manufacturing, product development, co-packer relationships in a soft and hard candy confectionery environment. Following advanced studies and degrees in his field, he joined Brown and Williamson as a Research Chemist and later, Senior Research Chemist, involved with new products and process development. He later joined Nabisco Inc. as a Senior Research Associate where he was involved with flavor development and application in cookies and crackers. He holds several US patents in the food and flavor field.
Dr Adedeji has a Ph.D. and Master’s degree in Food Science from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey. He has a Master of Science degree and postgraduate Diploma in Food Science and Technology from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria and a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Biochemistry and Nutrition from the same institution. He has various research affiliations with The Center for Advanced Food Technology (CAFT) in New Brunswick New Jersey. He is a professional member of the Institute of Food Technologists, Chicago, Illinois and The American Chemical Society (ACS), Washington DC and an active member of the Agricultural and Foods Division of the ACS. He was Chairman of the symposium “Flavors in Non Carbonated beverages” AGFD 100th Anniversary in Philadelphia, PA. USA.
